Municipal courses are often given a bad name because of their public pay and play status, a shame you will no doubt agree, as many of them are every bit as good - indeed, often better - than their private members' rivals. Take the course at Little Hay Golf Complex for example. It belies its 'muni' status in that it is kept in superb condition virtually all year round and has more than the occasional hazard lying in wait to test your accuracy and confidence in hitting.

It was laid out many years ago now to designs specified by Hawtree and Son and has gone on to become one of the finest and most respected courses in the Hertfordshire region - not bad for a 'muni.'
