Designed by Hawtree and Taylor in the late 1890s, the course at Harpenden Golf Club is amongst the oldest in the Hertfordshire region. Indeed, it first opened its doors to golfers in 1894 and is therefore in its 111th year of entertaining and challenging enthusiasts of the sport. It features a wide array of hazards with the likes of tight fairways and strategically placed bunkers all around, meaning accuracy is at an absolute premium here.

At 6232 yards in length from the first tee to the eighteenth pin, it is a reasonably long course, but fortunately it is laid on quite flat parkland making for a considerably easy walking course.
