Bridgedown Golf Club

Located in the midst of the rolling Hertfordshire countryside, Bridgedown offers a challenging parkland course, featuring troublesome water hazards on many of its eighteen holes. Costing £17 for a weekend pass, it is excellent value for money and ideal practice for those who feel confident enough to take it on.

The par 4s are all quite long and require extremely accurate tee shots to allow the well-guarded, uphill greens to be reached in two.

Perhaps the most memorable hole is the first, an exceptionally tricky par four off the yellow tees with a dog-leg left making it effectively longer. The sloping green is well protected by a large lake in front of it, so an accurate tee-shot is essential to avoid a nasty mid-iron approach.
