Hood takes the helm - development coming
THE BELFRY, the only four-time host of the Ryder Cup, has appointed a new managing director to oversee a £30 million refurbishment.
The resort, bought in August of last year by KSL Capital Partners and now run by De Vere Golf, has appointed the experienced Lynn Hood to the role.
Hood started her career working for the Disney Corporation 20-years ago, and has managed all over the UK at some of the top hotels.
The Belfry resort covers 550 acres of Warwickshire countryside, containing a 324-bedroom hotel and two championship courses.
The champioship courses are: England’s only PGA branded course, the PGA National, and The Brabazon, where the Ryder Cup was played a record four times in 1985, 1987, 1993 and in 2002.
Hood was full of praise for the resort. “It was apparent from the moment I walked through the doors that there is a great deal of pride felt here both from customers and from the team,” said Hood. “There is a magical atmosphere and a real treat for golf enthusiasts of any ability.”
