ALMOST 40 women, some pictured above, grabbed the chance to swing into golf in Norfolk when a ‘ladies only’ coaching course was held at four centres. The mixture of learning a new sport, making new friends and spending time in the fresh air proved to be a winning combination for many.
Nicky Greenacre can vouch for that. “The course was just brilliant,” said the 48-year-old. “We were nine women, all different ages and we all got on and had such a laugh. We just had the best time.”
Their coaching sessions were offered by the Norfolk Golf Partnership, which works to grow the game and which is part of the national ‘Get into golf’ campaign.
The women learned the basics over seven sessions and then ventured on to the golf course, accompanied and encouraged by established players who explained about etiquette, course management and scoring.Image supplied by Leaderboard Photography
