Trolley deal will help squads to ‘play their best’
ENGLAND Golf and PowaKaddy have strengthened their long-standing relationship in a deal which has seen the England Golf men’s squad presented with a fleet of cutting edge FW7 electric trolleys.
The presentation took place at Royal Lytham & St Annes, where many of the English side will be hoping to represent Great Britain and Ireland in the Walker Cup later this year.
Each of England Golf’s leading women amateurs has also been presented with a new FW7 trolley, which they received ahead of the international match against Spain at Burnham &Berrow.
Commenting on the performance benefits that the England squads will draw from using the industry leading FW7, PowaKaddy marketing manager, Mei Tierney, said: “The FW7 is beyond doubt the best-performing electric trolley that we have ever created and we have seen remarkable success for this model in 2015 already.
“From a recent study we have conducted with one of golf’s most prominent specialist physiotherapists, we have conclusive evidence that electric trolleys can help golfers play better.
“We are delighted that, through our role as official trolley supplier to England Golf, we will be able to bring these benefits to some of the best young players in the country as they represent England while competing at the highest level worldwide.”
Nigel Edwards, the England Golf performance director, and 2015 Walker Cup captain is glad the players can take advantage of an electric trolley to allow them to focus on the playing side of the game.
He said: “Playing up to 36 holes a day on some of the world’s most challenging courses and under immense pressure places great physical and mental stresses on our leading amateurs.
“Using an electric trolley has been proven to allow our squads to better deal with these demands while on the golf course, helping them to play their best when it matters most and in pressure situations.
“I’m delighted that PowaKaddy is continuing to support England Golf in the provision of this essential equipment.”
