The Old Thorns Hotel Group has completed the takeover of Chart Hills. Situated in the High Weald of Kent, Chart Hills is an award-winning 18-hole golf course and clubhouse that sits on a 200-acre estate, complete with Oak woodland, lakes and the longest bunker in Europe, dubbed ‘The Anaconda’.
Sir Nick Faldo designed the course in 1993 and it has subsequently matured into one of the finest in the South of England.
The acquisition is the latest to be completed by the Old Thorns Hotel Group, which has also added Lythe Hill in Haslemere, Tracy Park in Bath, and Castlemartyr, the luxury five-star resort in County Cork, to its portfolio in the last year.
Neil Drinkwater, the group’s business development manager, said: “The group is ambitious and the latest acquisition is a reflection of the company’s continued growth in the hospitality and leisure sector.”
