Stunning First Degree Golf Academy facility is one of the few ‘elite’ studios in the whole of the UK

MOOR PARK Golf Club has just opened its new putting facility - and it might just be one of the coolest facilities we’ve ever seen.
The First Degree Golf Academy, which is based at the club, recently showed off the state-of-the-art facility, which comprises a 44sq/m green within the historic clubhouse.
Matt Wallace, a recent winner on the Challenge Tour, said the new offering was very special and gave golfers ‘in-depth knowledge’ about this important part of their golf game.
“The 360° Putting Lab is a brilliant studio,” said Wallace. “Not only is the artificial green realistic to a putting surface, it is also true and fast. The ability to use the SAM Putt technology allows golfers to get in-depth knowledge of their setup and stroke. I love going into the lab to work on my face control and start line. I highly recommend booking a session to anyone who wants to improve their putting.”
The facility, pictured above, has seven hole locations with a partially sloped green and boasts six high definition camera positions as well as a SAM Putting lab system. The studio is the only one of its kind in the region and one of only a handful of putting specific facilities in the country.
The technology on offer allows the team of PGA professionals, lead by advanced PGA professional and specialist putting coach, Robert Warburton, to accurately analyse a pupil’s putting tendencies and produce both immediate improvement and build long-term sustainable improvement for golfers.
The facility also offers pupils the opportunity to get custom fitted for a new putter and discover if their current putter is the right fit for their stroke. Working closely with local retail partner, the Complete Golfer, the 360° Putting Lab is able to offer custom fitting in a range of brands, ensuring pupils not only have the latest putter in their bag but it is custom fitted to their requirements.
“This state-of-the-art facility allows us to get a 360° understanding of a player’s putting and really identify what is inhibiting them from producing their best performances when it matters, out on the course under pressure,” said Warburton.
“The technology allows us to build a fact driven picture for golfers of all abilities and utilise this simply and concisely to allow them to make both immediate gains and long term sustainable improvement.”
A number of Academy pupils and Moor Park Golf Club members are already benefitting from the facility and seeing significant improvements in their game.
Lessons in the 360° Putting Lab are available on a two hour basis (recommended for first time pupils) at a cost of £120, or on a one hour basis at a cost of £65. Custom-fitting sessions are on offer at £50 for a 45minute session.
