By Georgia! Hall tops LGU standings

LADIES British Open Amateur champion Georgia Hall has won the inaugural LGU Order of Merit.

The 17-year-old, a member of Remedy Oak Golf Club, in Dorset pipped Wales’ Amy Boulden to the title and, consequently, gains an exemption into next year’s Ricoh Women’s British Open at Royal Birkdale in July 2014 provided she remains an amateur until at least such times as that championship has been played.

Georgia says there is no possibility of her turning professional and forfeiting that place among the best lady professionals in the world.

“I played in the Ricoh Women’s British Open over the Old Course in St Andrews this past summer and it was just about the highlight of the year for me,” she said. “I really enjoyed and I can’t wait to experience it again”

Another English golfer, Gabriella Cowley, finished third on the Order of Merit, with Meghan MacLaren, Alex Peters, Amber Ratcliffe and Rachel Goodall also making the top ten.
