Kent club to undergo a ‘complete transformation’ as part of comprehensive re-branding exercise
The owners of Birchwood Park Golf and Country Club - formerly Birchwood Park Golf Centre - have announced a £5million investment into the development of the club.
Burhill Golf and Leisure Ltd (BGL) has confirmed the Dartford venue will undergo a complete transformation of its health and fitness area to create the newly-styled club, which is set to launch early in 2017.
Guy Riggott, Operations Director at BGL, explained: “We hope that by transforming Birchwood Park, we can create a golf and country club that provides fantastic facilities for members and guests to enjoy, and that the changes will generate a lot of interest from the surrounding area.”
The star features of the development are the brand new 25-metre indoor pool and expansive spa facilities, both of which will revolutionise the club.
A larger fitness suite with over 60 pieces of equipment, three aerobics studios including a spin studio, new changing facilities, larger on-site shop, new entrance lobby and reception, and an extended café bar and grill are among the highlights of the investment plan that both members and visitors will be able to utilise fully upon completion.
Birchwood Park Golf Centre is one of ten golf venues and 22 courses across the UK operated by BGL and, with this investment, the company is hoping to further its philosophy of making the game of golf accessible to all, no matter what age or ability.
“We want everyone to be able to enjoy the new club,” said Birchwood Park general manager Melanie Drake. “Our aim is to create a premium facility to be embraced by all.
“The emphasis is now on golf, fitness and well-being, so we wanted to use the investment to further promote healthy living to the local community.”
The fitness suite and studios are expected to be complete by August 2016, and the full re-development to be open for use in early 2017.
