The Bristol Golf Club, with its stunning views over the Severn Estuary, benefits from being set in two-hundred year old parkland, as the large mature trees provide both shelter and intrigue, doubling up as beautiful additions to the stunning countryside and tricky hazards that make the course all the more demanding. The water hazards on ten of the eighteen holes also add an extra element of difficulty to the course.
The par 3 fourteenth is beset by difficult water obstacles to overcome to avoid bogeying the hole. A large lake stands between the tee and green, accounting for at least half of the 112 shooting yards. Another large pond to the right of the green and bunker to the left demand a straight tee shot.
