Chelmsford Golf Club

Located just outside the town centre, Chelmsford's golf course is now in its 111th year, although not quite in its original condition. Harry Colt, the pioneering English golf course architect, whose designs transformed clubs in France, the UK, Germany and the USA amongst others, redesigned the layout and structure of Chelmsford in 1924 and it remains in that form today.

An eighteen hole parkland course, it stretches over 5981 yards with a good S.S.S. of 69, so both high and low handicappers can expect a challenging round. Visitors are welcome with prior reservation from Monday to Friday and can expect to pay roughly £35 per round. Some discounts exist for corporate groups and societies also, who are invited to play on Wednesdays and Thursdays only.
