Only eleven miles west of Durham city is Crook golf club, which possesses one of the most formidable reputations in the area. The meticulously maintained greens and fairways are some of the region's finest and have even been compared to those of Augusta National. A bold claim, but one which is given some added strength by all those who have witnessed this course first-hand.
It provides a hugely stern test for golfers of all capabilities and most certainly offers a challenging and exciting round. The scenic views in the area make for a fantastic environment in which to play also. The par of 70 over 6102 yards seems quite generous but do not be fooled into thinking that this is an easy course to negotiate.
