Municipal courses are often given quite a bad name by the more discerning golfer as they are traditionally seen as poorly kept, not particularly challenging courses to take on. To tar the one at Ilkestone Golf Club with that brush however would be unfair, wrong and would leave you missing out on a course as good as many of its 'proper' rivals. It is kept in fine condition all throughout the year by the dedicated team of greenkeepers who meticulously attend to its every need and has enough challenges to puzzle even the most experienced player.

Although only a nine-holer, it still measures in excess of 4000 yards and is well worth taking on.
