Blue Circle (Hope) Golf Club could lay claim to being home to the most bizarre location for a golf course in England.
The parkland course, which was founded in 1985, is situated within the grounds of the Lafarge Cement Works, a cement factory business that employs 1,500 people and has capacity to produce more than six million tonnes of cement a year. The nine-hole golf course has been laid out on old worked out clay pits which have, obviously, been completely restored. The course is fairly challenging and has a number of interesting holes which will provide an enjoyable test of golf for players of all abilities, especially beginners and children. Visitors are welcome by prior arrangement. GREEN FEE KEY: £1-£15=£ £16-£30 = ££ £31-£50 = £££ £50+ =££££ |
