Looking north, the Galloway Hills are found, whilst the Lakeland Fells and Isle of Man command the horizon to the south, providing the sensational backdrop for a course with hazards and tests for all levels of golfer.

The fairways are lined by heather and bent, whin and broom, bunkers and sandy wastes, whilst the Cumberland turf is extremely springy. The greens play fast and true and invite daring tee shots. The par three ninth is extremely challenging with deep bunkers guarding the green from the elevated tee.
