A mix of links and parkland, the course at Maryport golf club can boast a fabulous setting, nestled between gorse-filled countryside on one side and the sea shore on the other. It offers fabulous views over the Solway Firth and the Galloway Hills From the opening tee, a stream much be carried over, before crossing the road for holes four and five, also links type holes.

Back in the gently undulating countryside, holes six to fourteen are more parkland styled, with water coming into play on holes six and seven, which also feature out of bounds to their right. Holes fourteen and fifteen can be made all the more difficult in windier conditions, whilst fifteen to eighteen revert back to the links type.
