Overlooking the hills and mountains of the Lake District as well as the shores of Morecambe Bay, the hillside course at Grange Fell is an enjoyable, challenging course that will test the highest and lowest handicappers alike. Consisting of nine-holes, it measures 5278 yards played as eighteen holes, no doubt as a result of the hilly, severely contoured and undulating nature of it. Consequently, it is fortunate that the par is 70.
First established in 1952, a new clubhouse was recently opened in 1998 to bring the club up-to-date, and in line with the twenty-first century. It is hugely popular with visitors and is particularly affordable also, with a round during the week costing £12, and increasing to £18 at weekends.
