Set across a unique parkland landscape with a rocky outcrop, Casterton is fortunate enough to be able to open all year round as a result of the natural drainage that its limestone rock provides. Such natural drainage has made the fairways tight and firm, and the greens particularly fast.

The structure of the fairways, in particular, makes for a challenging nine holes on this par 70, and the third and fourth hole are especially demanding. The fourth hole has a blind tee shot playing towards a heavily guarded green, whilst from your elevated tee on the third, the dangers to the right of the undulating fairway are obvious yet not easy to avoid so concentration is vital.
