The Longstanton Golf Club Ltd was formed in 1991 and in 1992 the Cambridge Golf Club, a nine-hole golf course and driving range, was opened in Longstanton, just seven miles north-west of Cambridge city centre.
In 1995 Mr Ken Green became proprietor and in 1997 a further nine-holes were added, completing an 18-hole course which, at 6,818, yards, is one of the longest in the county. With the support of the proprietor a separate Cambridge Members' Golf Club was formed, which looks after handicaps, runs competitions, organises matches against other clubs and runs this website. The course itself is a nicely maturing parkland course designed as two loops of nine, both finishing at the clubhouse, with ponds, ditches and lakes.
