Southfield Golf Club has the almost unique distinction of having been worked on by not one but two highly regarded golf course architects.
When it initially opened in 1875, it was based upon designs by the legendary James Braid, the man with the Midas touch and who lent his talents to so many of the finest courses we enjoy today. Then, almost fifty years later, Henry Colt redesigned it, he being another of the finest, most famous golf course architects whose work shaped and influenced many of the designs we see today. It now spans eighteen holes over 6,320 yards and has a standard scratch and par of 70. It will take a cool-headed golfer to match that score!
